Onion Dosa

Dosa Ingredients:
  • 4 cups  Rice
  • 1 cup  Urad dal
  • 1 tsp  Fenufreek seeds
  • 1 tbsp Chanadal
  • 1/4 cup Poha (beaten rice)

Topping Ingredients: 
  • 1 cup finely chopped Red onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped Coriander
  • 1/2 tsp chopped green chili
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin powder


Method: 
  1. Soak urad dal , poha and rice separately in cold water , along with rice soak fenugreek seeds and chana dal preferably overnight. 
  2. Grind the soaked dal.
  3. Grind poha and rice to make a smooth thick paste. Add salt to this paste. 
  4. Allow it to ferment.   
  5. Mix the chopped onions, green chilies and coriander leaves with salt and cumin powder in a bowl. Keep it aside. 
  6. Now heat a flat pan on high flame. Apply little oil to the heated pan and then carefully pour a ladle of batter onto the pan and immediately spread it evenly in a circular shape. 
  7. Add a little oil to it and spread about 2 tsp of the onions-chili-coriander-cumin and salt mixture on the uncooked side and wait for a few seconds. 
  8. Turn over the dosa and again apply some oil to cook the other side. 
  9. Onion Dosa is ready to eat. Serve hot with chutney.
