- 1 cup Semolina/rava (fine)
- 2 cup Sugar
- 3 cups Water
- 1/4 cup Ghee
- 2 tbsp Cashew nuts broken
- 2 tbsp Raisins
- 1/4 tsp Cardamon powder
- 3-4 drops of Yellow food color
Method:
- Dry roast semolina and keep aside.
- Now heat a pan add 1 tsp of ghee and fry cashew nuts and raisins, remove and keep aside.
- Now heat a pan add water, when boils, reduce the flame and add the semolina little by little.
- Keep stirring continuously, so no lumps are formed.
- Cover the lid for few mins.
- Now see if the semolina is cooked.
- Add sugar and mix well. This will loosen the semolina.
- Keep stirring by increasing the flame to medium heat.
- When it thickens add the remaining ghee, roasted cashew nuts, raisins and cardamom powder.
- Mix well.
- Once it stops sticking to the sides of the pan remove it.
- Transfer to a serving bowl.
- Serve hot.
Note:
This can be cooled on a greased plate and cut into diamond shapes.
Orange color can also be used.
