Palak Paneer

  • 4 cups Spinach chopped
  • 1 cup Paneer cubes
  • 1/2 cup Onion finely chopped
  • 4-6 Green chillies
  • 1" piece Ginger
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 2 tbsp Fresh cream
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • Salt to taste


  1. Wash and chop the spinach.
  2. Put chopped spinach in a microwave safe bowl, close the lid partially and microwave for 3 mins.
  3. Allow to cool.
  4. In a blender add the spinach and puree it. Keep aside.
  5. Grind ginger and green chillies to a coarse paste, keep aside.
  6. Heat a pan add oil, fry paneer until light brown on all sides. Remove and keep aside.
  7. Now in the same pan add onion and fry till golden brown.
  8. Add the ginger and chili paste. Fry them well.
  9. Now add coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala.
  10. Saute them all well.
  11. Now add the pureed spinach, if thick dilute with little water.
  12. Allow to boil.
  13. Now add 1 tbsp of cream, fried paneer cubes and salt.
  14. Close the lid and simmer for 2 mins.
  15. Transfer to a serving bowl.
  16. Decorate it with remaining cream.
  17. Serve hot with naan, chapati, parata, etc..
