Gobi Mattar Masala

  • 2 cups Cauliflower florets
  • 1 cup Green peas (fresh/frozen)
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1 Tomato pureed
  • 2 tbsp Yogurt
  • 3 tsp Oil
  • Salt to taste

Ingredients For Masala:
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 tbsp Shredded Coconut
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tsp Coriander seeds (dhania)
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2" Ginger
  • 2 tsp Poppy seeds
  • 6 Whole Red chillies

  1. Wash the cauliflower florets and peas.
  2. In a microwave safe bowl add the florets and peas.
  3. Add 1tsp of oil and microwave by closing the lid slightly for 4 mins.
  4. Now grind the ingredients for masala with little water to a fine paste.
  5. Heat a kadai or wok. Add remaining oil, add bay leaves.
  6. Now add the grounded masala paste and fry until the raw smell leaves.
  7. Add puree of one tomato and curd. Fry well.
  8. Now add the vegetables, pour little water and salt. Mix it.
  9. Close the lid and cook for 5mins, check if the vegetables are cooked and transfer to a serving bowl.
  10. Garnish with coriander.
  11. Serve with paratha, chapati, etc..
